The courtyard of Brantwood School's Coach House residential provision needed an outdoor table, so we made one out of oak sleepers.
This was a collaborative project which encompassed a wide range of skills using hand tools. There was also a community dimension built in, as we were producing a practical item destined to be used by the school's residential students.
Older students enjoyed the work, particularly the sanding and oiling of the wood to create a quality finish. They also enjoyed using oak pegs to make a smmoth and perfect finish to the joints.
